In March 1998 we received a letter from Lands Dept that GLC (Great Lakes Council) had brought into effect the DCP17 allowing the establishment of a waterfront restaurant on our lease opposite South Street. I consulted both GLC & the Lands Dept, having acquired the neighbouring boatsheds with the view of taking up the offer. I lodged the paperwork November 2000 to acquire a new 20 year lease to the new compliant "commercial waterfront". The new lease was granted July 2005. It took a further 18 months to have the Valuer General combine all the leases and licenses into one (rateable property) lease & license which is now ready for design & redevelopment. Ref 1. |
